The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), via the U.S. Paralympic Adaptive Sports Program, has designated $7,500,000 grant for the U.S. Olympic Committee (USOC), which will award subgrants to organizations that are committed to promoting participation, competition, and training for Paralympic adaptive sports amongst the disabled members of the Veterans and Armed Forces Communities. These efforts must take place over several weeks or months, and cannot be limited to a one-time event. Eligible organizations include (1) state, county, city, township, and special district governments; (2) independent school districts; (3) public, state, and privately controlled institutions of higher education; (4) Native American tribal governments and organizations; (5) nonprofits (with or without 501 (c)(3) status, other than institutions of higher education); and (6) other organizations that meet the criteria for Paralympic and/or adaptive sport entities. The submission deadline for this funding opportunity is July 31, 2013.
