The RWJF Nursing Faculty Scholars program intends to counter the current deficiency in nursing faculty by providing financial incentives for nursing professionals with PhDs to remain in health care education and secure tenure. This funding opportunity will award up to 12 scholars per year a maximum of $350,000 over a three-year period to assist with salary support, research expenses, and professional development. Applicants should come from accredited institutions in nursing, and have identified two senior leaders (one professional, one research) who can serve as mentors on their scholarly work and progress. A school of nursing may nominate one candidate annually, and may have no more than two active scholars in the program at any time. Grantees should anticipate devoting at least 60% of their time to funded research pursuits. Applications are due February 12, 2013.
