The American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) has announced the availability of three Impact Research Grants of $50,000 each to support research findings that lead to promoting change in bedside critical care nursing practice. The Impact Research Grant program exists to motivate the development of evidence-based tools that include protocols and practice alerts that support AACN priorities. Examples of currently funded projects include: research related to identifying the impact of telemedicine on intensive nursing care, a study on feeding intolerance in preterm infants, and a project that measures the quality of care provided by pediatric cardiovascular nurses at children’s hospitals. AACN is also offering one AACN-Sigma Theta Tau Critical Care Grant of $10,000 and three AACN-Philips Medical Systems Clinical Outcomes Grants of $10,000 each. The deadline for all grant applications is November 1, 2012. Click here for more information on these opportunities.
