Prevent Infant Mortality in Indiana
Prevent Infant Mortality in Indiana

In response to recent news that Indiana has one of the worst infant mortality rates in the nation (7.7 deaths out of every 1,000 babies born in 2011 – the latest numbers available), the Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) issued a grant opportunity announcement offering financial assistance to local and statewide service providers and planning organizations dedicated to implementing comprehensive programs that reduce the rate of infant mortality (either directly, or in associated priority areas), especially in high-risk counties throughout Indiana. Requests should not exceed $100,000, and applications should outline details corresponding to 18-month project periods with an anticipated start date of April 1, 2014. Applications are due on Friday, November 22nd, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. EST.
