PCORI to Announce Key Changes in Methods Program

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) will be revealing substantial changes to its “Improving Methods for Conducting Patient-Centered Outcomes Research” program when it releases its Cycle 3 funding opportunity announcement on August 15th.  Beginning with this cycle, the Methods Program will identify two to three Research Areas of Interest (RAIs) in each announcement.

New Letters of Intent and applications for Cycle 3 2016 will only be accepted for these two RAIs: “Research Related to the Ethical and Human Subjects Protection Issues in PCOR/Comparative Effectiveness Research” and “Methods to Support Data Research Networks”. However, investigators who submitted invited LOIs and full applications in Cycles 1-3 in 2015 and Cycle 1 2016 will be eligible for resubmissions that align with the broader program priorities in those funding cycles.

Look for more critical details regarding applicant eligibility and responsiveness screening in the August 15th announcement, and keep your eyes out for a recap from us next month!
