PCORI Cycle 2 Opens

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) released its Cycle 2 Funding Announcements earlier this month, which include two opportunities under its Pragmatic Clinical Studies program and one limited opportunity for PCORI awardees to disseminate and implement the research and products associated with their PCORI awards.

In its Pragmatic Clinical Studies program, PCORI seeks to fund large clinical trials, large simple trials, or large-scale comparative observations studies to compare the relative effectiveness of two or more alternatives addressing prevention, diagnosis, treatment, or management of a disease or symptoms; improving healthcare system-level approaches to managing care; communicating or disseminating research results to patients, caregivers, or clinicians; or eliminating health or healthcare disparities. Applicants may request up to $10 million in total direct costs for a maximum project period of five years.

For the Limited PCORI Funding Announcement (Dissemination and Implementation of PCORI Funded Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Results and Products in Real World Settings), applicants may request $300,000 in total direct costs for a maximum project period of two years.

Letters of Intent for Cycle 2 opportunities are due May 4, 2016 with applications due August 8, 2016.
