Robert Wood Johnson Foundation has announced the latest round of its New Careers in Nursing scholarship program, which awards funds to schools of nursing to provide scholarships to college graduates without nursing degrees who are enrolled in accelerated BSN and master’s nursing programs. The program aims to reduce the nursing shortage and increase the diversity among nursing professionals. Up to 400 scholarship awards of $10,000 each are available this funding cycle. A school of nursing may apply for between five and 30 scholarships per year to support economically disadvantaged students or students from underrepresented groups in nursing. Previous grantees include Indiana University and Indiana Wesleyan University. Applications are due January 9, 2013.
