The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) announced a Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Nutrition Training Program to better prepare graduate nhutrition students improve the nutrition of women, children, and families. Grant funds will support: 1) the fostering of leadership in administration, systems integration, continuous quality improvement, education, and nutrition services for populations of women, children, and families; (2) development and dissemination of curricula, teaching models, and other educational resources to enhance MCH nutrition programs; and (3) continuing education, consultation, and technical assistance in nutrition with a special focus on Title V programs, community-based programs, and other Federal programs. Up to $1,060,763 may be available to fund up to six MCH Nutrition Training grants. It is anticipated that the maximum grant award will be approximately $176,800 per budget period for up to five years. Eligible applicants include public and nonprofit private institutions of higher learning. Applications are due March 22, 2013.
