HRSA Announces Funding for Children with Special Health Care Needs
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has announced the availability of up to $3.6 million for state systems integration efforts for children and youth with special health care needs.
All state governmental agencies are eligible to apply. Funding will support efforts to increase access to health homes for children with special health care needs (CSHCN). Research by HRSA and HRSA-funded researchers have found that health homes (or medical homes) that include comprehensive care, care planning, care coordination, and quality improvement help improve health outcomes for children with CSHCN. HRSA anticipates awarding 12 grants of up to $300,000 each. Applications are due by June 13, 2014.
