HRSA Announces Opportunity to Support Health Centers

The Health Resources & Services Administration (HRSA) has announced its Health Center Controlled Networks opportunity. The overall goal of this grant program is to support health centers in achieving meaningful use of ONC-certified electronic health records (EHRs), adopting technology-enabled quality improvement strategies, and engaging in health information exchanges (HIEs) to strengthen the quality of care and improve patient health outcomes. “Health center” means organizations funded under Section 330(e), (g), (h), and/or (i) of the Public Health Service Act, as amended (Health Center Program award recipients), as well as organizations with look-alike designation, meaning they meet all Health Center Program statutory, regulatory, and policy requirements but do not receive funding under Section 330 of the Public Health Service Act. HRSA anticipates making up to 45 grant awards of $500,000 to $1.5 million per year for a three-year project period. Applications are due February 1, 2016 with supplemental information due March 1, 2016.
