The Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Office of Minority Health (OMH) announced the availability of up to $2.7 million for the Partnerships to Increase Coverage in Communities Initiative. The initiative seeks to fund projects to educate and assist minority populations in enrolling in health insurance plans through the Affordable Care Act’s (ACA) Health Insurance Marketplace.
Successful applicants will work with their current coalitions/partners to develop and implement a strategy to identify, assist and educate eligible minorities about the ACA, the federally-facilitated healthcare.gov, and the application process. Virtually all entities are eligible to apply.
OMH anticipates awarding up to 13 projects of up $250,000 each. Applications are due by June, 16, 2014.
