HRSA’s Health Workforce Research Center (HWRC) Cooperative Agreement Program opportunity is open to states, state workforce investment boards, public health or health professions schools, academic health centers, and other public or private nonprofit entity. With the capacity to collect, analyze, and report Title VII health workforce program data and provide technical assistance to local and regional entities on the collection, analysis, and reporting of health workforce data. Applicants are expected to produce and disseminate rigorous research to strengthen policies and enhance the government and public’s understanding of key issues affecting the healthcare workforce. Suggested areas of focus include allied health, behavioral health, direct care (ex. long-term care settings and community-based settings, geriatrics, oral health, palliative care, and primary care. Competition will be steep as HRSA anticipates making only six awards. The deadline is January 20, 2017. The average annual award size is $450,000 over five years.
