Grants for Health Services Research for Minority Populations
Grants for Health Services Research for Minority Populations

The U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) has issued two grant opportunities to support health services research for racial/ethnic CMS beneficiaries, specifically Hispanic and African Americans. Due August 10th, the Grants to Support the Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) Health Services Research program is intended to encourage researchers within HBCUs to pursue research that impacts the Medicare, Medicaid, and Children Health Insurance Programs (CHIP) while also supporting other health services research impacting African Americans. Due August 11th, the Grants to Support the Hispanic Health Services Research program is similar in its intent to encourage research pertinent to Medicare, Medicaid, and CHIP beneficiaries that are Hispanic while also supporting broader health-related research topics pertinent to Hispanics.

As with all CMS grant opportunities, the application process is cumbersome and the competition will be steep. Words for Good is experienced in preparing successful CMS applications with sufficient lead time. Contact us for a consultation.
