Grant Opportunity for Interdisciplinary Education in Pediatric Pulmonary Centers

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS)’ Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) has issued a grant opportunity for institutions of higher education to become “Pediatric Pulmonary Centers (PPCs).” PPCs are intended to improve the health status of infants, children, and youth with chronic respiratory conditions through four aims: (1)  Providing interdisciplinary leadership training at the graduate and post-graduate levels in five core disciplines of pediatric pulmonary medicine, nursing, social work, nutrition, and family leadership; (2) Engaging with families as full partners to support family-centered practice, policies, and research; 3) Impacting policies and practices at the regional and national levels; and (4) Supporting diverse trainees and faculty, and cultural and linguistic competence approaches to address health disparities related to chronic respiratory conditions. Intended grantees are colleges, universities, and teaching hospitals with relevant expertise. HRSA anticipates making six awards. The deadline is March 23rd.
