Much more than a stepping stone to a traditional college education, community colleges have emerged as powerful engine of workforce development in states and localities hit hard by the recession. Ivy Tech Community College has long been a power player in Indiana’s economic landscape, renewed through its Focus on Student Success 2025, a bold plan aligned with national higher education goals to achieve 60 percent post-secondary attainment among working age adults by 2025. Ivy Tech is the largest singly accredited statewide community college system in the country and the largest (and most affordable) public postsecondary institution in Indiana. Ivy Tech also serves Indiana’s business community through its Corporate College. Words for Good was recently hired to assist Ivy Tech with federal grants.
