Doing Good: Indiana Perinatal Network

Words for Good® is excited to introduce a new client, Indiana Perinatal Network (IPN). Established in 1998 with a mission to lead Indiana to improve the health of all mothers and babies, IPN provides resources for mothers and families on critical topics such as prenatal care, substance use during pregnancy, breastfeeding, reducing unplanned pregnancies and post-partum depression. IPN is also a particularly invaluable asset to Indiana’s birthing hospitals and infant and maternal health providers – delivering important clinical and regulatory updates and sharing best practices. Further, IPN has led multiple pilot projects designed to impact maternal and child health outcomes for at-risk populations, including a project to improve breastfeeding rates and school attendance for adolescent moms and a project to increase access to lactation services for minorities in Marion and Johnson Counties. As one of the most robust perinatal networks in the country, IPN’s members include nearly 1,000 individuals and organizations from across the state. For a listing of IPN’s diverse educational and training events, including the upcoming Indiana Perinatal Educators Conference on April 24th, click here.
