Words for Good congratulates Covering Kids & Families of Indiana (CKF-IN) on receiving a $997,810 grant from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). This funding opportunity is part of round III of HHS’ Connecting Kids to Health Coverage Outreach and Enrollment Grants. Financed by the Affordable Care Act, these awards are intended to increase the number of eligible children enrolled in Medicaid and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP). A total of forty-one grants were made throughout twenty-two states. Words for Good developed the application in partnership with Community Solutions. The two year grant award to CKH-IN—the only award in Indiana—will expand Medicaid and CHIP coverage amongst low-income children and families in eight communities throughout Indiana and connect them with medical homes, in addition to other strategies to prepare for full implementation of the key health care reform provisions in 2014.
