American Public Health Association

In its aim to champion the health of all people and all communities, the American Public Health Association (APHA) has kicked off its annual Congressional recess Public Health ACTion (PHACT) campaign. PHACT’s goal is to raise our voices together to educate policymakers on the importance of public health – and the really cool part is that PHACT gives each of us the tools we need to talk to our members of Congress about protecting critical funding for important public health issues. The PHACT web page offers fact sheets on this year’s advocacy priority areas with convenient links to send messages to your members of Congress. You can also access state fact sheets with information on how your state ranks on public health funding and health indicators. And if you live in Indiana or North Carolina, you’ll really want to take a closer look…these states rank 43rd and 47th, respectively, in public health funding. Read up so you can speak up!
