RWJF Announces New Direction for Health Workforce Programs

The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation (RWJF) announced a new direction for its health care workforce programs and the end of many of its existing nursing programs.

After a year-long strategic planning process, RWJF concluded that the evolving health care delivery landscape calls for a more modern approach to supporting the health care workforce. Specifically, RWJF plans to focus on developing leadership through multi-disciplinary approaches that capitalize on technology for a further reach.

In making its announcement, the Foundation provided a timeline for the closure of ten of its current programs. The Careers in Nursing Program is slated to end next year. The Nurse Faculty Scholars and Executive Nurse Fellows Programs will end in 2017.

We will all be anxiously awaiting the announcement of RWJF’s new initiatives.
